A FEW WORDS ABOUT ME

My name is Matt Stevens and chances are, you’ve already heard my voice. As a voice-over actor, I’ve been heard in commercials and on some of television’s most popular shows.

For over a decade, I’ve also performed as a DJ and Emcee. Wedding receptions, company parties, auctions and charity events have allowed me the privilege of meeting lots of great people, and sharing some excellent moments.

Through the years I’ve learned a lot about what works at a party, and what doesn’t. Please feel free to contact me any time. I’d love to put these ideas to work, for you.

WHAT I DO

By surrounding your guests with rich, indulgent sound, I transform ordinary events into life experiences that people enjoy and remember.

At receptions and parties where people dance, I use music to cultivate an environment which naturally invites people to let go, celebrate, and enjoy themselves and each other.

EXPERIENCE

For more than a decade I’ve performed at scores of weddings receptions, company parties, anniversaries, birthday parties, and other events in and around Los Angeles.

In addition I’ve done commercials for companies like Nissan, Frito-Lay, Southwestern Bell and more. You can catch my voice on episodes of NBC’s E.R. and The West Wing this season.

PHILOSOPHY

Great parties are all about trust. In order for people to forget themselves and have fun, they need to know they’re in good hands. Your guests will sense when the music is being selected just for them, and when everything is moving forward in a natural way.

Stale humor, canned speeches, and shtick that embarrasses or forces your guests out onto the dance floor work against this positive energy. I never use these.

The key in all of this is music. The right music at the right time has power to invite, coax, and infuse your guests with a sense of fun and spontaneity. The best DJs know how to allow the music, and you guests, to take center stage.
